About
K1Logic is an independent consultancy born from 15 years of end-to-end automotive software engineering. We didn’t learn vehicle architecture in a cloud dashboard; we built it from the ECU up. From early BMW telematics to steering VW’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) through SOP, we’ve been embedded in generation-defining platform shifts. Now, we combine this deep, hardware-grounded expertise with modern AI to build solutions that seamlessly integrate into the physical realities of vehicle engineering.
Why We Started K1Logic
After over a decade inside automotive development — across two of Europe's largest OEM groups — we saw the same pattern repeat: highly skilled engineers buried in manual work. Validation through disconnected scripts. Root-cause investigations that took weeks. Requirements and test automation held together by tribal knowledge. The expertise was there, but the tooling wasn't keeping up.
When AI opened up new possibilities in 2023, we saw the potential immediately — but also the barriers. Cloud-only solutions collided with TISAX, GDPR, and IP protection. Generic consultancies lacked the domain depth. And the engineers who stood to benefit most were left waiting for IT approvals that came too late to matter.
That's why we founded K1Logic in Munich — at the heart of the German automotive industry, where the stakes have never been higher. To bring AI into automotive engineering the right way: built by people who understand the vehicle, deployed on your infrastructure, and owned by your teams. European, independent, and engineered to stay.
Our Background
Our roots are in vehicle engineering — not just in a cloud dashboard, but deep inside the vehicle architecture and out on the road.
From Bare Metal to Cloud Architecture & Series Delivery
We have led platform architectures from the ground up—meaning we understand the complete journey of a data point from a physical sensor, through the bus system, all the way to the backend. At BMW and VW Group, we didn't just manage high-level software requirements; we steered Software Defined Vehicle systems end-to-end through SOP across seven premium brands. Because we know how hardware behaves under real-world conditions—and how physical anomalies actually manifest in trace logs—we know exactly what is technically viable when applying AI to automotive data, and what is just noise.
Safety-Critical Systems & Physical Realities
Working on safety-critical systems like Connected Crash Detection and AR Head-Up Displays taught us that data is never just abstract numbers—it represents physical reality. We validated Connected Driver Assistance Systems and prototyped infotainment and connectivity for BMW Motorrad. Every system shipped under strict real-world constraints: fluctuating network coverages, hardware latencies, automotive-grade safety requirements, and absolute zero tolerance for failure.
Engineering Transformation & Team Enablement
We designed and built automated simulation and validation platforms from scratch—starting with broadcast module testing under dynamic, physical reception conditions at BMW, and evolving into end-to-end process optimization at CARIAD. When we initiated Data Science capabilities inside OEM engineering teams and trained engineers internationally in test orchestration, our focus was always on bridging this exact gap: combining advanced analytics with the physical realities of vehicle engineering. We didn't just deliver systems—we built the holistic capability to sustain them.
We've sat in the SOP task forces and fought through the final integration bottlenecks. We know the exact technical realities, the processes, and the pressure of getting a vehicle on the road.
